Fyr is such a deep, wonderful Indo-European word: vīrietis in Latvian, vir in Latin, fear in Irish, vira in Sanskrit etc etc. All pointing back to strength (virility). Skål!
Why is it "hva slag" and not "hvilken slag"?
I'm also wondering why "hvilken slags fyr" is wrong...
'Hvilken slags fyr' translates to 'which kind of guy'. Unless you have a pre-set list of possible qualities, or 'types of guys', you have to choose from, I think it would probably sound a little strange.
kan vi bruke type?
Could say 'hva er han for en fyr?' if I wanted to emphasise my disgust or contempt?
