Couldn't this also be translated as "My children have really changed a lot."? Or would you need "değişmiştiler" for that? I don't think so. As a standalone sentence in English, using "have" sounds more natural.

Question about gercekten, can it mean "truly" or is it usually more of an intensifier ("really")?
