First German class, quite surprised, though ecstatic.
Hey, all! I posted earlier about my first day coming up of my first college German class. It was great. I walked in and the teacher was speaking fairly quickly in German. I was very much surprised that I wasn't caught off guard. I understood most of what he was saying and was able to answer questions in German. I used what I learned here on Duolingo. We went over the basics, numbers, clothing, commands and other terms. It was a great experience and it felt great and accomplishing that after all I have studied here and not even finished on my tree, I am confident in a good amount! Look forward to more and finishing what's left of my tree!
Congrats! You didn't find that they were talking too fast? I find natives speaking too fast!
I did find it tough at the start, but I was able to understand many words spoken that I could follow the conversation and answer them.
Guten Arbeit! I had a similar experience with a German tourist at my place. Felt really confident after that. Though I did find they talked really fast, I wasnt caught off guard. I had tried watching a few movies earlier and found that I really liked them.
