Tomando café - eating breakfast !!????
Yes, when you have a context =)
glad I learned this sentence, I'm going to do my best to work it into casual conversation...
"I was taking breakfast when I saw the spider." Is it wrong ?
I got marked wrong for that too. It's a tad old-fashioned but it's still correct.
Is "I was drinking coffee in the morning when I saw the spider" a possible translation? If not, would one just use "bebendo" instead "tomando" to say this sentence since "tomar café da manhã" is like an expression meaning "to eat breakfast" ?
I got marked incorrect for "I was eating my breakfast when I saw the spider" - I feel that's slightly unfair!
Why "I was having breakfast when I saw the spider" was marked wrong?
Ok, I drink breakfast! thought "I drank coffee to calm down from fear of seeing the spider in the morning" ;o)
