Duolingo says I can use 'bra' and 'godt' for 'well' in well thanks. Are both applied to the same situations or does use differ with context?

Did anyone else read 'well, thanks!' as a reponse to a backhanded compliment rather than a reponse to a 'how are you?'? Like "you look nice for a change" "well, thanks!"

it should be 'men, takk'. if we are doing conversational norweigan. this, in example, is a literal translation from good/well, thanks. not from a covesrational 'well...thanks'. hope this clarifies this :)

When would this phrase most likely be used in conversation?
