Can "date" in this instance be used to refer to a romantic dinner/movie as the word can in English, or is it solely for specific points in time?

I heard just a bit ago that "coinne" is a romantic date. Now go flirt with people in Irish! XD

I'm asking out of curiosity as to the specific definition of the term for in case I see it used some time in the future as opposed to asking for my own personal use, but yes, when I have reason to do so I guess I now know one word that can be used to aid me in flirting in Irish.

How do you differentiate the date as in today's date, A date as in going out on a date, or dates as in the fruit?
