What's the difference between gustaria and quisiera?

They both come across as "I would like" but there is a difference.

From the internet:

me gustaria is "I would like" in the sense that you are expressing how something pleases you - me gustaria mucho ir al cine contigo.

quisiera is used as "I would like" in the sense that you are making a polite request for something - senorita, quisiera cafe con leche.

Gustaria = would please, quisiera = would want.
