I suggested "are carried out" as a possible translation for "déantar" in this sentence, as well as other contexts. Other possibilities would be "are performed", "are conducted" eg "Rinneadh scrúdú iarbháis ar a chorp" = "A post-mortem was performed /conducted/carried out on his body".

I did notice that the word tiles give me the alternative sentence "Volcano experiments are done in the bowl" -- nice.
