"Mi tute ne komprenas la planon."

Translation: I don't understand the plan at all.

Could this sentence be interpreted as "I do not totally understand the plan"? I got this marked wrong, and the intended translation has a very different meaning. How would one translate my sentence into Esperanto?

Mi ne tute komprenas… Sometimes word placement does matter.

It's like:
I totally don't understand the plan
vs.
I don't totally understand the plan

I agree. In English, there is a difference between "I do not entirely understand the plan" and "I totally don't understand the plan." The first sentence implies partial understanding. The word "tute" means "totally" so I said, "I totally do not understand the plan" and got it right.
