the slow version has an extra “a” sound in the sentence which makes it rather confusing

This sentence is very strange without context.

I know. I got away with writing "He tastes sweet" lol

An alternate translation ought to include: It tastes sweet.

I agree. Elsewhere, "the cake tastes sweet" was accepted as a correct translation for a comparable sentence.

What the heck kind of person would say that???

"It has a sweet taste?" Many people would say that.

Has a sweet tooth should be acceptable

yeah, she says it with a t sound not a d sound for dolce

She has a sweet tooth. I myself have never tasted her.

"Ha un gusto dolce" the correct answer should be "it has a sweet taste". Since there is no gender, it can't be considered wrong, and made "She has a sweet taste" as the only correct answer!
