♪ Too many cooks ♪
It takes a lot to make a stew
A pinch of fun and laughter, too
They say too many cooks will spoil the broth
I feel like I've been trolled
For all of those who don't understand the reference https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QrGrOK8oZG8
What IS that? I watched for about 3 minutes and I could feel my IQ going down.
It wasn't real series, was it? Was it a spoof?
It's a spoof until it all starts to go very freaky...watch the rest ;)
When it comes to the future, you can never have: TOO MANY COOKS
What is the difference between til and for? I'm unclear on when to use which.
Can we use "Altfor mange kokker"?
That would be the translation of "way/far/all too many cooks".
The "alt" in "altfor" acts like an intensifier.
What if I want to say 'for many cooks'?
How am I supposed to know this? This is the 1st time I'm seeing "too" and the hints give me 2 options out of which one is incorrect.
You're not expected to know everything - you're here to learn, after all. :)
Now you know both what is the appropriate translation in this context, and that there is (at least) one other translation which would be applicable in other contexts.
...spoil the broth.
Strangely enough, I actually sing this song in languages I'm learning as an exercise.
For mange kokker
I det lille kjøkkenet
Gå, dere dumme kokker!
