What is the Progress Quiz like? I've never taken it

I took it a couple of days ago and I was really disappointed in myself, I only got 0.85/5! But it asked questions to subjects I hadn't learnt yet. So I guess it's ok but be careful if you're not confident yet cos you don't get any sneak peeks

Practice makes better! Don't get disappointed. I had a lower score 2 months ago when I first took it. Try it in a couple of months of practice and you will get a confidence boost rather than a disappointment :)

It's a bit of a lot questions, you can't peek on words and you don't know if your answer is correct or not. You just wait for the final result. It's kinda like an assessment test to check your level

Gratulerar VassilisBi! That's a great result. :) I just tried the progress test for the first time and got 2.77 which I am pretty pleased with as I am not yet half way through the Duolingo course, but have also been learning Swedish with Rosetta. There were quite a few unknowns in there for me. I would have liked to see a detailed break down of the results - e.g. where I made errors, and which skills I was strong and weak in. Still it's a good way of measuring progress.

That's impressive :) I scored 4.41 and am quite pleased as I thought I didn't do very well...

I scored the exact same on my progress quiz today (0.4!) as I did a month ago. Has anyone else's seemed really repetitive? I am in the fourth section of my tree but felt like the quiz only really covered the first two sections of the tree. And only a couple parts at that. It was frustrating because I know I understand Swedish better than the quiz score would indicate. Felt like a waste of my Lingots.

I am suspicious of the scoring of the Swedish progress quiz. I received the same score (1.14/5.00) 6 months ago, 3 months ago and today twice. I KNOW I did much better the 2nd time today. At the very least I would expect the decimal points would have changed.

I have got 0.99/5 for 4 of my last 5 quizzes. The one time I got higher, 1.14/5, I got questions with much harder words. It seems like there are ranking questions at the beginning, and that I must be getting something important wrong there, and then I get asked a heap of really easy things and max the band I am in. Does anyone know about this or have any thoughts? Or know how it works? I'd really like to restudy the bit I have missed so I can get quizzed on the hard stuff.

I redid it and got 1.29, with a lot of new words.

Hey I have a couple of questions regarding the progress quiz.

Firstly are the quizzes: a) One standard quiz that covers material from the entire course or b) Do they take into consideration personal progress, ie how many of the skills have so far been learnt and/or current level? I had assumed that it was the latter until an exam a sat last week tested me on material I only covered for the first time today. I suppose if it is the former it means I am even prouder of the grade I got since some questions I couldn't be expected to get correct!

Secondly how many different quizzes are there? If there are only a few then I will refrain from doing the quizzes too often.

For the record I scored 2.77 on both of my first 2 attempts last summer and finally took my third last week, scoring a very pleasing 4.11 :)
