A Good Goal?

Hi everyone! So, recently I've been very interested in the Norwegian culture and would love to become semi fluent in the language someday. I started my lessons with Duolingo a couple days ago (daily goal 20-30 xp), and I'm loving Norwegian so far. I am already fluent in English and French and I'm excited to learn more. This is my first time learning a language online, so I don't really know what I'm looking at time-wise to reach semi-fluency in Norwegian (Bokmål). Of course, I know it'll take much more than a couple weeks, but I would like to know a good goal to set for myself. Could anyone give me an estimation?

Obviously, the higher your daily goal is the sooner you'll learn the language. I myself have been learning Spanish on and off (mostly on) for about a year, and if I didn't take any breaks would probably be semi-fluent to the point where I know enough to communicate with people about any general topic. If your goal is 30 xp a day my guess is it'll take 1.5 to 2 years to be semi-fluent.

Sweet! That's great. Thank you! (By the way grats on level 10!)

What do you mean by "semi-fluency"? I know fluency is a very abstract concept and also a hard one to explain, so what are your objectives with Norwegian when you say you want to become semi-fluent?

What I mean by that is I would like to be able to speak basic conversations about most subjects. Maybe not know know all the vocabulary or more uncommon words (like things that wouldn't come up often) but know grammar and conversation well.
