Can someone help me please. I speak English and was learning French, Italian and German. After completing the French tree and getting to level 25 I thought I would try the reverse tree in French. So I said I spoke French and wanted to learn English. That worked fine but now I cannot get back to my French, Italian and German from English trees. The owl thinks I only speak French, all the text on the site is French (that's OK I guess) but when I go to select another of my trees from the drop down menu next to my name (top right) there is only the English from French tree. That is presumably because English is the only language the French version of me is learning. How do I get back my trees for the English language speaking version of me and then swap between the two?

You can get back to your English version the same way you got on the French one, by selecting "I know English, I'm learning French", and it will get back all your trees, but that time your English one from French speakers will disappear. To switch between the courses easily, you will need to install a script. https://github.com/arekolek/DuolingoCourseSwitcher Go to this link to install it. :) Good luck!

Thanks everyone for your help. I am back in business. I was getting worried that the owl had lost all my progress in the English language trees but all seems OK now.

You have to go on you name on top, réglages, langue actuelle, "I want to learn French i speak English". the page comes back to english, nothing is lost! It is impossible to swap, you need to do this every time you want to change.

Try clicking this. :-) It will take you to the course you want (French for English speakers) and should put you back in English mode. https://www.duolingo.com/course/fr/en/Learn-French-Online

If you hover over your flag icon up above, the drop-down should have your language options, and underneath an "Add a new course" option. You may need to go there and select "Je parle l'anglais" and choose "le francais" (I think that's what they say - I'll post, check, and edit if needed).

EDIT: Or...you can do it the way the people above me describe. That's much simpler! :-)
