Apparently durfen means should sometimes and could or might at others. Very confusing.

Dürfen means may, or be permitted to. When it is substantive, it means might. You can tell it is substantive here because it says dürfte instead of darf. I think.

"Then one mas permitted to find more" has a typo in it.

"mehr" sounds like "merr". "dürfte" = "should" or not?

To me, 'mehr' sounded like 'mir'.

"Dürften" isn't that a past tense?

Does "durfen" ever express possibility, as in "be able to"? Or is this about having permission?

Why is "Then one might have found more" not accepted? " The past tense (indicative with and subjunctive without Umlaut) is indicated. Logically, a present subjunctive would be a better choice. If so, would that be "Dann durf (mit Umlaut) man mehr finden?"
