This sentence was the first time I realized that samtale is basically samme (like together) and taler (talk). I feel at once stupid for not realizing it before, and enlightened for having seen it.
Is taler 'talk(s)' a Norwegian verb as well? I knew that talar is, in Swedish.
"We have an interesting conversation regarding history" should be accepted.

"Samtal" is neuter in Swedish and Icelandic, but "samtale" is masculine/common in Norwegian and Danish.
