"Luis von Ahn (born 1978) is a Guatemalan entrepreneur and an associate professor in the Computer Science Department at Carnegie Mellon University.[2] He is known as one of the pioneers of crowdsourcing...and (is) the co-founder and CEO of Duolingo, a popular language-learning platform."

From Wikipedia.

Well, that's a real subtle way to name drop yourself.

I don't know Luis, but it seems that Giovanny is an ECG!

Luis is a person who doesn't listen to his audience about NOT getting rid of Duolingo clubs. Right, Luis? (& yes they're brass).

Pretty sure Luis von Ahn didn't do this himself, but rather his staff did it as a joke/tribute.

Ohh... So that's who he is!

Umm... Have a lingot, or 10

I like how Duolingo underlines Luis as a new word. I feel as if I already know everything about this Luis.

And now the story ark begins....

He is Mario's brother, the one with the green hat

Luis translates to Luigi :)

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/UriahN

I typed Luigi, and it did not take it. If it has two options, then they should both be accepted.

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/rnablade6

I answered "Who is Louis?" and it said I had a typo... But that's how we spell it here in good ol' America! :-D

Names are generally not translated. :) But there may be exceptions. For example, in my country (Lithuania), we translate the names of the Kings and the Popes.

Ok! Thanks for clearing that up!

Thanks to Duolingo, I can now say this sentence in French, Spanish, Portuguese Italian... Whenever I go abroad I'll always be able to ask about him when I'm confused...

Luis is Maria's husband on Sesame Street.

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/Hamed554746

It's the same question in farsi to ask ''who is louis?'' Kie louis?

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/nahuatl1939

luis e luigi in italiano

Whoever luis is,what do YOU have to do with him Duo? You just do your work and teach us as you were doing a while ago.

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/Konrad521811

That's such a bad question. How can I know that you meant "Luis", not "Louis" or "Lewis"? All options should be correct.
