Is it popular in norway? My mother who left Norway in 1936 always ate crisp breads, which she obtained in the Norwegian area of Brooklyn, 69th street.
Replying to this just as I have finished eating my knekkebrød with cheese.
Very popular and there are lots of different types.
Hej! I used to visit that shop until it closed recently! Small world. :)
Hva er knekkebrød? Jer er ikke nordmann.
Også i Tyskland.
'Crispbread' is not a word I recognise as a native English speaker, I would suggest accepting 'crackers'.
As a child in Ireland, I used to love ryvita with cream cheese. This is also sold in Scandinavia but knekkebrød is usually a coarser type of crispbread. Crackers are thinner and don't have the characteristic indentations.
