Is there a verb "To do" in Irish?

Just wondering, is there a verb for "to do" in Irish, or another way to say it?

i.e

I do

We do

He did

She does

etc.

Go raibh maith agat!

Déan means do or make and is one of 11 irregular verbs, so there are a few different things you have to learn. Have a look at this http://www.daltai.com/grammar/irregular-verbs/

Yes, déan means "do" or "make."

So "déan mé" would mean "I do"?

Déanann mé (analytic) and déanaim (synthetic) would mean “I do”.

Note that déanann me/déanaim is not an answer to the question "Do you take....?"

In English, "do" can be used as a interrogatory, and you can answer the question "Do you verb?" by saying "I do", but in Irish, the answer is not "I do", it's "I verb"

rinne mé would mean 'I did'

déan mé would mean 'make/do me'

Would rinne mé not mean i did?

Touche. Had a brain fart moment. Though Munster might use dheineas instead of rinne, but I'm not sure.

Haha, no bother. And would it really be déan mé for make/do me? I didn't know could be used for me. I thought it had to be combined with a preposition like déan orm or déan agam or something.

That's not the kind of 'make me' like your asking someone to force you to do something. It's literally commanding someone to 'make' you (like, build you).

Also just checked. Munster does use dhein(eas) for past tense (first person singular)

Oh, ok. so if it was make me ,like asking someone to force you, would it be something like déan orm then?
