"Kvankam ŝi ne parolas la japanan, ŝi tamen parolas la ĉinan."

Translation:Although she does not speak Japanese, she does speak Chinese.

"Though she does not speak Japanese, she speaks Chinese" should be accepted. Either "although" or "though" can be used at the beginning of a sentence.
