Excellent German Podcasts for Beginners (works well alongside Duolingo)

For those of you who are just setting out on learning German and who need the grammar explained in a way that makes sense to English speakers, I recommend this resource:

https://radiolingua.com/tag/cbg-season-1/page/3/

Start at the bottom.

There are 40 episodes of Coffee Break German altogether, and they will be enlightening :)

Good podcast, thanks!

They also do French, Spanish and Italian. I've just completed the second season of French. It's been invaluable.

I listened to this, it was great - but it's been a year and there's no word about a second series ):

Yes, it's a shame that they're probably not going to continue, by the looks of it, but I'm delighted that they at least managed to complete four entire seasons of French.

Are the lessons for free?

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/SimoneBa

Yes, they are. You can subscribe (and pay) to get supplementary materials, but the podcasts are free, and very helpful.

¿Estás... pensando en embarcar el alemán?

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/compicej

Excelente!

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/SimoneBa

Si.

Has somebody listened to them and can make a review?

For example I listened the firsts "Coffee Break German" and here there is my review.

PRO Start from the very beginning --- Mothertongue teacher --- Cultural references --- Funny

CONTRO They proceed very slowly --- You practise more English than German

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/gildatramo

Have you listened all of them?

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/SimoneBa

I haven't to the German ones, because I'm not learning German, but I've listened to the French version produced by the same team.

Thank you for sharing :)

I have listened to 20 episode of the Spanish version. It is been very helpful. They have tried to make it fun and musical. It has worked I tell ya. The Spanish series is very long. Then comes their semi-advanced course which is Show Time Spanish.

Learn German in just 5 minutes a day. For free.
