What is the difference between "en ekteskap" and "et bryllup"?

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/Deliciae

et ekteskap = a marriage
et bryllup = a wedding

With the wedding being the event where you get married, and the marriage being what you're stuck in/blessed with until death or divorce do you part.
