Nah, he's got eight more to go. Plus, they always land on their feet.

Why is "hop" not accepted? Is there a different Swedish word for that?

Yes, that's skutta.

What exactly is the difference between hopped and jumped?

Sorry about the late reply - my notifications were turned off for a while, so I've missed a large amount of questions.

A hop is the kind of small jump you might do when skipping, or that rabbits do. A jump is the larger or more general kind.

"Sprung" is not accepted as well. Also a different word? I'm not a native speaker but for me "jump" and "spring" are synonymous.

I suppose that could be accepted, though I think most natives would default to "jumped" an overwhelming majority of the time.

Can someone explain the Swedish versions of has jumped vs had jumped?

January 14, 2018

  • has jumped = har hoppat
  • had jumped = hade hoppat

Though I'm not sure if that's what you were asking.

Ceiling is the interior overhead surface, roof is the exterior.

Yes but tak covers both i think is what he is saying.

March 8, 2018

Sure, but the response is still the correct reason - it doesn't seem very reasonable to assume the cat is spiderpigging the ceiling. :)
