A hop is the kind of small jump you might do when skipping, or that rabbits do. A jump is the larger or more general kind.
"Sprung" is not accepted as well. Also a different word? I'm not a native speaker but for me "jump" and "spring" are synonymous.
I suppose that could be accepted, though I think most natives would default to "jumped" an overwhelming majority of the time.
- has jumped = har hoppat
- had jumped = hade hoppat
