I am currently learning German using Duolingo. I would LOVE to be able to learn Lakota. It would be great to have the ability to speak in this Native American language. I have taught myself some basic structure over time, bought cassette tapes in the day, some books, but this format would be incredible!
If you know someone who can teach it, then have them apply for the Incubator later when it is fully operational! :)
I would like to post my support of adding Lakota to the language queue. Lakota is a highly endangered language, but it is also one where there is a strong push to save it. There should be a good number of teachers of the Lakota language who would be willing to contribute to the incubator. One place to start looking for volunteers would be the Lakota Language Consortium at http://www.lakhota.org/
I would love to learn it guided by an instructor. I have fooled around with tapes and books and online sites, but to have this site support it would be wonderful.
I am also interested in learning it, I might know some relatives who might possibly be interested in helping to teach it but I'll have to talk to a few people first.
Dances with wolves was one of my all-time favourite movies, I would love to learn Lakota.
