super means above, this is not a lamp standing on the table (sur), this is a lamp hanging from the ceiling or attached to the ceiling.
That makes sense. I guess I'm subtly predisposed to think of a lamp as either a table or floor item and not a ceiling fixture. So when I see lampo my brain makes those leaps too quickly. Thank you for your help.
