Right that's the literal translation. I propose weather-beaten is the best English translation as this is the more common expression in English, although weather-bitten is also possible in English.

I guess that the following Dutch words/expressions: ''doorgewinterd, afgetoogd, geradbraakt , gehardend door de elementen'' all approach that Swedish word depending on the context.
