Too many categories require strengthening

I love the strengthening categories aspect of DL, but the problem is that every day I am waking up to 5 + (Today was 10 o_o) categories that need strengthening and it's starting to get annoying especially since most of categories that require it are words that I already know.

Is there any way I can set the categories as "Already known please don't decay" mode? (I know there's a feature for single words but I want to do it for the whole category)

I really DO like strengthening, It's just too much for me :P Thanks :D

I usually get between somewhere between zero and two categories decaying per day, which is fine, but the day before yesterday I broke a nine-day streak and suddenly had 15 decay all at once!

This is incredibly disheartening, because it will take at least a couple of hours to get them all back up to gold standard, and in the meantime I'm not learning anything new.

Maybe it would be good to have a rule that no more than three categories (whichever three are weakest) can decay per day? Otherwise it's too much of a mountain to climb to get back to where you were.

Thanks!

I agree, When the system organises too many categories to strengthen, you don't get a chance to learn much :(

I too have been waking up every day to 5+ categories that need strengthening. Being a very busy person, duolingo is a great learning tool. But I've stopped learning anything new. I only have about an hour a day to dedicate to this, which I think should be more than enough. But all I do is strengthen the same categories over and over. Very frustrating, but at least I know I'm not the only one. Is there some other way to go about this? Should I just not bother strengthening the categories?
