Is there even a difference between en and én?

Writing "en" with the accent would mean stressing the fact that it is one single, without having to write "en eneste" or something similar. It can be useful at times, but is seldom essential.

'en' = 'a/an' and 'én/en' = 'one', but these are often interchangeable. https://www.duolingo.com/comment/9731706

you can almost always leave out the accent (except for some place names)

Why not 1.70 m? In the reverse situation that was allowed.
