I have seen a few discussions on so many lingots not enough things to buy etc. What kind of things would you like to see available for purchase via Lingots?

My idea (and wait for it) is avatars (Ok I know its kinda silly and childish) but I was watching my kids play a game called reading eggs (learning English/reading/writing/comprehension) and they earn golden eggs which allows them to "buy" new things for their avatars, pets, clothes, stuff for their virtual apartments. The kids put a lot of time in to get stuff... and I often get "Mum I just need 100 more eggs to get this dress I want!! can I please do it for a little bit more??" :D <---- Happy mum :D I think we should all have our own owls.. which we could dress up... the amount of time I spend just designing a character on Skyrim... I could clearly be doing something more productive!

though at the moment I have been just collecting the lingots without having anything sensible to put them: I'm not particularly interested in streak freeze, as that affects mainly getting more lingots, and I don't want heart refills because it's good to repeat the lesson if I don't pass it normally, even when I make idiot mistakes...I need to be punished :)

So using them for something inconsequential but motivating would be a good idea.

Heart refills, I've noticed, have another use; if you lose all of your hearts on a unit, you will not end up losing a lingot only if you have purchased a Heart Refill.

I think that is a good and a bad idea at the same time, the things in the Lingot store are to help us to learn. if we put things in there that are not related to learning people might become distracted from their work. But on the other hand that might encourage people to earn lingots and therefore being doing more learning.

I agree with you, I have to limit my kids on reading eggs to how much time they can spend at the "mall" otherwise they could be on it all day but they burn through their "gold eggs" pretty quickly so they have to keep learning!!

I would love it. Buying stuff more than just for the German courses. "Mum I feed to feed my owl too do that i need 20 more eggs please may I go on here for 2 more hours." 2 hours "later mum I need too get this thing for my owl. May i stay on a lil longer pleaseeeeeeeeeeeee?" really happy mum & we should have more often lingots & eggs every time you get on too encourage

This isn't a virtual reality game, so I think it's a bad idea.

It might not be a game but it is a learning incentive, and like all learning wether it be human or animal (I'm a certified dog trainer) We have a standard called "jackpot" which is you teach the dog sit, reward, sit, reward, sit, no reward, sit, reward, sit, no reward, sit , no reward, sit JACKPOT! Lavish the dog with treats and love!! Dogs are natural gamblers, if it worked once for them it might work again so they try again. People are very similar, to learn they like rewards. My kids get so excited when they come home and have won a prize from school. They go to school the next day behaving even better (just in case they win again)

Ok, The concept is good as you say and it works, true, But it would have to be something all types of people will enjoy. I have no interest in dressing an avatar in clothes or anything like that.

What if you could unlock a section that ordinarily wouldn't be available yet (for big # of lingots)? Or maybe get a physical thing, like a Duo magnet or postcard?

Love the physical thing, but to be "cost effective" virtual things are better, I suppose if you translated a heap of work for them the magnet, postcards would be cool.
