Day streak is zero?

In lingot store, I have Streak Freeze = Equipped. I can see in my chart that I missed duolingo practice yesterday. Few moments ago I logged in and day streak is zero. Why? Is it some bug or I messed something up.

My 230-day streak was lost after I missed practice yesterday, and like you, my Streak Freeze is still equipped :-(

I really hope the staff fix this, it's very demotivational.

According to some other discussions in the troubleshooting area it seems to me that several have the same issue... Unfortunately me as well :( Hopefully the staff will fix it. In the past I even heard that sometimes streaks were to be restored, when such things happened.

But don't be too sad! Having a longlasting streak is not the highest goal here :) It's not like you forget the vocabulary when you're losing a streak. Much more motivation to get a high one again! :)

I have the same query... the streak freeze still shows as equipped though my day streak too went to zero. can anyone from duolingo clarify this? Is it supposed to be used some other way

Same thing happened to me as well. Not a huge deal, but probably a bug worth looking into and fixing.

Same here. I equipped it fairly close to midnight last night when I realised I didn't have time to practice. It took the lingots and said it was equipped, yet today it says I am back to 0. However, the android reminder half an hour or so ago said something along the lines of "continue your 27 day streak". Confused but not too bothered really.

The Duolingo staff changed the handling of timezones for some users (https://www.duolingo.com/comment/10900718). According to several discussions in some fora it seems that these changings caused unusual high numbers of reports about lost streaks regardless equipped streak freezes.
