Lost my streak

I had a streak of ~170 days, and a streak freeze equipped, and still lost it. Can this be restored, as this is a clear glitch? Thanks.

Hi there. Don't mean to clutter the thread. I actually have an issue that is similar but not exactly the same - I did not make goal yesterday, and the streak freeze DID work (as it should've), but the system says I still have one equipped - it is not asking me to buy another one. Only asking about this as I very infrequently (maybe once a month or every other month) rely on these, and I want to make sure I don't lose the streak. Thanks!

We did not absorb streak freezes while we were having an issue - so even if your streak was saved by the freeze we did not remove it from your account. The streak freeze that is currently equipped for you will still work again in the future. Thanks!

My streak disappeared and I've reached my goal every day!

I practiced my skills yesterday and the app registered it (the number in top left corner turned orange). I feel so angry because I didn't miss a day, and this just makes me want to delete the app.

I hope this can be fixed because I'm pissed as hell.

Come on now. Surely all those days of hard work and learning aren't worth giving up just for what amounts to a gimmick. You can keep a record of how many days you have studied for in total, just in case there are any breaks, intentional or not. Knowing how long you have actually worked should make you proud. Buy a streak freeze for next time, and keep it bought!

This happened to me also two days ago. I lost my 260+ day streak. I wrote a bug report but I hope that posting here will help too. Like others here, I bought the streak freeze, but it didn't work, and it still says that the freeze is enabled. I would like to have my streak reinstated, as it's a main reason for me coming to use Duolingo every day.

So did I! Just reported as a bug. Hope we can get them back. I had over 250 days straight...not sure of exact number Actually, I just looked again and see that it still shows "equipped" so it looks like there is a problem with the Lingot Store. Duolingo, please fix and give our steaks back :-( !

I lost my 100-day streak due to the time difference (I'm traveling). I didn't realize that factored in as I typically do my lesson as soon as I get up; however, yesterday we were gone all day on a day trip to a place without good cell reception. I got on just after 10 pm here, but that did me no good since it was after midnight in my home state. I was so upset when I realized it was broken that I cried.

Same story here, I call it "The stolen streak" What a rip-off! Duo took my streak away, although i had a streak freeze. An hour ago Duo told me that I lost my streak while I was working on the required XP's and the Lingo Store shows me that I'm still equipped with the streak freeze.

Looks like several in this discussion have received their streaks back; congrats. Not sure why you have and I haven't. Maybe Duolingo is doing this by time zone? I wish they would talk to me at least since I haven't heard anything since I reported this problem. Just depressing. I was sick last night and tried to set up a freeze, but it appeared one was already in place and it wouldn't let me, so I assumed I had already set one and hadn't used it, as I sometimes do. Especially since I saw all my work this week had also disappeared from the home screen as it only showed today's XP hours. ...which is why I reported this as a bug. BTW, my time zone is correct and I am not traveling. Is anyone listening?

This is the second time I have lost a streak (one after six months and now after 3 months +) while feeling that the streak helper has not done its job. Though, this time, it should not have been necessary to keep going. Well..... I am losing some of my incentive as a result. Could you look into the program that seems to be missing a beat especially when you are abroad? Oh, well,, thanks for the other wonderful features of your program.

I lost my streak of 334 days on Tuesday/Wednesday. When gaining points, the system added them and removed them later. Some of the points I gained through immersion have not been acknowledged, although my name is credited with the translation. Can anything be done?

Dear Duolingo, I have just logged on to complete todays daily German lesson, as I have for the last 251 days, only to find it has been reset to 0 when I haven't missed a day. Plus I have a streak freeze on. This is the second time it has been reset to 0 for no reason. My time zone is set right and I always complete it well within time. I am really disappointed to see so many in this thread whose streaks have not been restored. I'm sorry for all of you. I hope they do look at this and restore streaks appropriately.

Agreed, ht--and I believe the streak freeze/store is the root of the problem as I tried to buy a freeze and couldn't..thinking it WAS equipped, since it said it was, I skipped last night's session since I was not up to it. And it still shows a freeze now. So everyone who doesn't hit their sessions everyday without fail will lose their streaks, even in they think they have a freeze in place. Yes, hope someone addresses this soon.

Just another one. I've lost a 300 day streak. Yesterday (8 October, in Germany, IIRC that's UTC+1) I didn't practise, but I had a streak freeze equipped. I lost the freeze, and I lost the streak. I always have a freeze equipped, I have a gazillion lingots. First I though I forgot to equip it (improbable) and I bought one, but then I discovered that this bug appear quite a lot the last two days.

I had a 524 day streak which I lost when the internet stopped working just as I finished the day's lessons. I received a message asking if I would like to restore the streak for $9.99, I said yes, paid the money and my streak was then set at 2 days. That is NOT what I paid for; definitely not worth it. If my 524 streak cannot be restored I'd like a refund. I'd rather have my streak back, though. Thanks
