If there is a good translation wwhich I upvote then make a tiny correction does the upvote go to the original translator who did a good job but had a typo or other small error? I feel it's unfair for me (or anyone) to get credit if the original translator gets nothing.

Hi Jaye, I know I can't prove it, but I am confident that the upvotes still count. One reason for me thinking this is that when you revert to a previous translation, the upvotes are still there, despite it having been already edited. Also, we know the upvotes are retained despite edits because they count toward our translation tiers. I guess we could ask a staff member, but I think they might be a bit preoccupied with other things :) I sometimes upvote before editing now for good but imperfect translations if the person is a tier equal to or lower than mine (for people higher than me my upvote doesn't count anyway).

I agree with you that the upvotes are retained for the reasons you gave. Also, I've reverted sections from others, making a tiny change then giving credit to the original translation with reasons if needbe, then reinserting the tiny change. Thanks for the great idea.
