Duolingo for 'little ones'

Dear DuoLingo,

My 7 year old has just started using your German program and loves it so far :-) But I also have a 5 and 3 year old! I struggle to teach them the language as we are a dual language family, living in England, without a German network locally). I am finding it difficult to find any suitable products to help me, as most rely on the users ability to read and type! There is a product here! ;-) Any advice is very much appreciated. T

Expose them to the language:

  • Movie, TV, Radio.

  • Read them German bed time stories (or if you have a shotty accent, try finding children's books with an audio version).

  • Teach them simple stuff, like the alphabet (this may not be applicable, I only learned romance languages).

  • Try having them watch German children's shows

and the obvious stuff.

There's a course called Muzzy, which I think is published by the BBC - there are clips on Youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G_fJ50mL6Vg . But maybe buy a stack of German language cartoons on DVD that are just entertaining?

Search YouTube for Extr@ in German. Several episodes, entertaining, and they start very slowly, at least in the Spanish version.
