Then I'm lucky we made it through without this. I think because that had disappeared during the several family generations in South Dakota. But we certainly enjoyed big stacks of lefse (specifically potetlefse), and various potato and meatball dishes. Lutefisk, too, probably more from my grandfather's side, they were from the Sogn area.
