Ein vs. einen?

What's the difference, and when do you use each one? Thanks!

Maskulinum Femininum Neutrum Plural Nominativ ein eine ein ---------- Akkusativ einen eine ein ---------- Dativ einem einer einem ---------- Genitiv eines einer eines ----------

Nominative is when you use the noun as subject of the sentence. Accusative is when you use the nous as direct complement. Dative is when you use the noun as indirect complement. Genitive, I am not sure yet.

Each article changes depending in the function of the noun in the sentence.

I hope I explained myself.
