Hi Ms. Terri! It is not possible for teachers to disable bonus skills (such as flirting) at this time, but it is something we might work on. Tell us more about how this would help you, and I will make sure the team is aware. :]
My school would like to use Duolingo, but the flirting bonus is a huge point of contention. We have been using another language program, but Duolingo is better in every way---this is the only drawback thus far, and it is a deal breaker for our staff/parents. If we are able to turn the option on/off for that particular bonus we would in 100% agreement to move forward with Duo! I see that some say that it is a bonus and should be used at the user's own risk (which I agree with), however, when it comes to working with students we cannot be that helter-skelter.
It's a bonus. With this in mind, I think it doesn't need to be disabled. It's something that people buy at their own risk.... They don't have to do that to get scores and whatnot. Just tell them not to buy it, But if they do, Its not your fault(They can sign up to duolingo again just to buy it, You can't stop them to)...
