Paradise is in Heaven...
you could interchange them but others would tell you that you will get to heaven, after life, but not neccessarily into paradise "yet"
your soul must be OVER9000 like the kids would say nowadays...
(well in the 80's it was a place on earth -.-and the other one also a name for a place in the USA and other locations but that's off topic now)
der Himmel is the word for heaven, while paradise .. has its own term: das Paradies (or can be a Tomato in other languages)
der Himmel can also be the sky however
German's Paradies sounds like Parties. Anyone noticing it or am I the only one? O_o
"Ja, das Paradies liegt unterm Haus" -wie immer hat uns Rammstein Bescheid gegeben! :O
I translated it as "Where is that paradise?" and was marked wrong. Heaven is the place where Christians hope to go after they die. You might say, "This place is like Heaven" but you would probably not say it is Heaven. However, if you worked in a job you hated for ten years to save money for your dream vacation and when you got there, you found it was even better than you thought, you would say, "This is paradise."
There is only one Heaven but there are many paradises. Albert could be telling Bert about a wonderful vacation. I come into the room after he has told Bert where he went and how he got there and I ask him where that paradise is. Asking anyone, even a priest, where Paradise is makes no sense. Nobody knows where it is. No planes or trains go there.
