Maith thú! Is as Iarthar Thír Eoghain ó dhúchas mé, agus bím sa bhaile go minic. Bíonn go leor imeachtaí ar súil insan chontae, go háirithe i gceantar na hÓmaí. Níl mé ar FB, ach ba chóir duit dul i dteaghmáil leis an oifigeach Gaeilge i do cheantar.

This is not a language related question, but since you are getting a Tyrone group together, I have a question I have wanted to ask of someone who knows the area. My 2nd great-grandmother's death certificate says she was born in Lisbunny, Londonderry in 1858. However, other documentation from earlier in her life says she was from Tyrone. I can't find much about Lisbunny (Lios Buinne as Gaeilge?) on the Internet, but I wondered if it might have been moved from one county to another, etc.

I've never heard of Lisbunny I'm afraid but maybe it's a townland name and so not a town really, these names can go out of use. Wiki says it's on the Tyrone/Derry border. Here is a map I found. People from Claudy would know it. http://www.billmacafee.com/families/mcmillenlisbunny.pdf

The interesting thing is that there was once a mini-Gaeltacht in Tyrone around the village of Gortin, before it died out in the Fifties, so the grandparents of many group members may well have been native speakers!
