MOOC for B1 French learners, offered by the University of Nantes, starts November 2
The information and sign-up page for the course is here:
can anyone tell me - the B1 is a higher level? I am a beginner I wonder if I should go for it at all...?
This explains the CEFR levels, including what B1 is:
There are tests on line (one on the site for the course, though you might have to sign up to see it) http://www.campus-electronique.tm.fr/TestFle/ which will allow you to discover your level. The test I took there surprisingly told me I was a B2, it takes about 1 hour usually to do these tests.
Hey John, a MOOC is a massive open online course:
And yes, it's being offered for free.
There's an intro video on the page I linked above. The video gives more information about the course and it will also give you an idea of the level of instruction.
super cool, I am a B2 (apparently) (a bit rusty) so I have signed up! So exciting!
Could be an interesting course but when I try to open the MOOC disccussion page I get the following: There has been a 500 error on the FUN servers. However I wrote a mail to the helpdesk@france-unive....but got back an error for Policy reasons. There are Course Updates & News from yesterday but the IT problems are not mentioned. Anyone else has the same experience?
My experience from doing another course on the same website (FUN) is that their servers are pretty flakey and that things sometimes slow down quite a bit or fall over completely. But I just checked and was able to access the discussion page. Maybe try again?
My daugther began this MOOC yesterday without problems, I would suggest you to try with another browser :-)
