All of them? Or specific ones?

Tiers: Good idea in principle, needs some work to optimize it though.

Blue color coding scheme: Not really a fan, but I suppose I'll probably get used to any scheme they give me after using it enough.

Locked translations: I haven't actually encountered this personally yet, but it sounds like it's causing some problems. I think the translation rating system needs a bit of an overhaul in general but it sounds at least anecdotally like this particular change might not be an improvement.

Overall I voted "no", but I think trying things like these is part of the growing pains of a site like DL. Some ideas will turn out to work and some will turn out to suck, but you don't know for sure until you try.

Tier system in theory, yes. Current Tier system, no. It needs work.

Suggestions:

  1. Locked translations should be at minimum T5 or higher.

  2. Downvotes should be -1 by T1-3. -5 by T4 and higher. Possibly, to even it out, -10 given by highest T level. Upvotes should continue to be on a gradient point scale. People should first go through a tutorial for up and down votes before they can give any. It should be encouraged that if someone isn't sure, they skip the sentence, rather than up or down voting. But, because there are bonus points for finishing the article, perhaps there should be an "I don't know" button worth zero points. (I would have used it as a beginner. Could throw in 1/10 of a point as incentive.) T4 and up should be able to review all disputed down votes for points, deciding whether or not they were appropriately given.

  3. If people are going to get so many points from translating, then translation points should be separated from skill points.

  4. I honestly don't care for the highlighting. I don't use it as a reference and it bothers my eyes.

Maybe add another category for the poll? Something like "It still needs work." As is, none of the options apply to me yet.
