R is a voiced consonant, isnt it? I think you only use t when it ends in an unvoiced consonant, like k/s/p etc

I thought it was 'heeft gebeurd' or is this one of those verbs that can use zijn and hebben as auxiliaries?

No, 'gebeuren' only uses 'zijn'.
