Discussion Groups?

I love duolingo, the ease at which I can practice and learn is truly remarkable. The system works much better than any I've seen and I'm excited at the possibilities. Having said that, I know Duolingo could be a very social platform, and yet for me, it isn't. And really, in order to learn any language, you need to communicate in it.

So that brings me to my question, are there any discussion groups that members of this site have set up in order to practice the languages we are learning? And if not, is the Duolingo team looking at implementing features which would make such community groups easier?
