Folks....normal English Folk use folk as a plural except occasionally in poor quality spoken English.

"Folks" is quite a common word in US English: http://www.nytimes.com/2015/06/21/magazine/folkwisdom.html?_r=0

President Obama uses the word 7.3 times per 10,000 words in his news conferences. The last three US presidents have all used the word in said conferences.
