DOTA 2 and Russian?

So a lot of people have told me that DOTA 2 and now CS: Go are becoming infested with russian players who refuse to speak any english at all. In my case this could be an advantage when I start seriously learning russian, does anyone who has experience with playing these games know if it'd be a good way to learn/practice russian to play these games?

Erm, what server you play? I'm playing Dota 2 at sea server frequently meet Philippine players who just speak on their own language. Embarrasing to said, I only know some of their language and mostly is rude words.

For other countries I had meet korean speak their own language, but not much, I guess majority of them wiling to use English for communicate.

I've played CS:GO for a couple years now, and yeah, it's infested with your stereotypical Russian gamer, but I would recommend solely learning proper Russian first, before broken down, gamer language. Even I, with one of my home languages being Russian, can't understand some of what they say. So, I would argue no.

I doubt it. Gamers rarely use proper language anyway - usually, it's slang and with both games being fast-paced rather stressful team games, it's likely that it's even worse there than in your average MMO.... If you want to learn how to flame in Russian, it should work decently but actual communication? Probably not.

Just a reminder, a chat log from LoL (found online, not my own). Would you recommend that to someone as a good way of learning English?
