In Esperanto, is it okay to say, for example, 'Vi bluas rane' instead of 'Vi estas blua rano'. Would they have different meanings? Is the first correct at all?

  • Vi bluas rane = Vi estas blua rane = You are blue, frogly / You are blue in a froggy sort of way.
  • Vi estas blua rano = You are a blue frog.

You can turn adjectives into verbs meaning "to be X" (blui = esti blua = to be blue) but you cannot, in general, turn nouns into verbs that mean "to be an X".

I would translate Vi bluas rane. as "You are blue like a frog." or "You are blue in a frog-like way."
