Chỉnh lỗi tiếng Anh: Every people

Every girls in VietNam are really attractive. Man, every shirts I have are so stylish. Man, every people up at Hồ Gươm are going to go crazy for me tonight.

Don’t talk like this idiot, guys.

This week, I am showing you how to use “every” and “each” as well. Listen carefully and write this down if you feel it’s necessary: We never use “every” with plural nouns. We never say “every students”, “every people”, “every countries”. Every always comes before singular nouns, for example: “every person”, “everyone”, “every student”, “every country”.

But…why does English use singular pronouns when talking about every object in a group???

DO NOT ask WHY! Just ACCEPT it! And remember since we use a singular noun, we have also to use an appropriate verb. For example: Every day is another adventure in romance (“every day is” not “every day are”). Every guy wishes he could be like me, but he can’t (“every guy wishes” not “every guy wish”). We also can’t use “every” with uncountable nouns. Don’t say “every information” or “every money”. With uncountable nouns, we have to replace “every” with “all the” or “all of the”. For example: All the contact information that girl gave me was fake! Or, all the money I’ve got goes toward chasing those ladies. Talking about this problem makes me remember something else. Vietnamese people often make a mistake when saying “every time”. Remember that in English, “time” has two different meanings. The first one is “thời gian” and the second one is “lần”. “Every time” means “mỗi lần”, not “mọi lúc”. We use “every time” to talk about something that happens repeatedly. For example: Girl, every time I see you, I just feel like, I just wanna say…..There you go “every time” – “mỗi lần”. However, if you wanna talk about continuous time, in a sentence like this: I wanna be next to you all the time. Then you can’t say “every time” , but you have to replace it with “all the time”.

EACH: As far as grammar goes, “each” and “every” aren’t different, “Each” is also used with singular, countable nouns. The difference is just that “every” is used to talk some characteristic of a whole, while “each” is used to talk about each individual in a whole. For example: Each relationship is different from the others. See, in that sentence, I talk about the difference between each relationship in the whole of the relationships. Each my girl has her own personality, I separate each girl in the whole of my girls and then I describe how they different. If you talk about how things are the same, then use “every” – Every one of my girls loves this gold chain. That’s the difference between “evey” and “each”.

Nói tóm lại, every và each chỉ dùng cho danh từ số ít đếm được thôi phải không? Với lại each dùng cho mỗi đối tượng có mỗi đặc tính riêng còn every thì dùng cho mọi đối tượng có một đặc tính phải không?
