Another A/B Test? Progress bar not moving backwards

Just a quick post to see if anyone else has been experiencing the same thing. When doing lessons and practices my progress bar moves forward but it does not move backward when I get the lesson wrong.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Did I miss a post about a new A/B Test?

Christmas is one of the biggest holidays in english culture. With christmas only days away, I logged in to duolingo today and was brought to wonder what similar holidays are like elsewhere in the world. So what I have decided to do is put together a page where everyone can learn about christmas in other places.

They recently (earlier today in my timezone) added a new A/B test called 'sg_mistake_session_extension_experiment', which sounds like it could be the A/B test you describe.

I am in the control group. Does it affect the number of questions you get, or is it only visual?

It affects the number of questions I believe. When I got a question wrong and it would have been complete it made me repeat it until I got it correct.

Do they ever announce their tests?

It has been my experience that the tests usually result in people reporting apparently buggy behavior, until someone figures out it is a test...

I'll admit that I've not paid enough attention the last few times. I do know that I got to a certain point in an exercise and it asked me the same question thrice without it decreasing when I got it wrong (and it was only thrice because it took me 3 tries to type the response properly...)

I believe I have had questions repeated in this way also. I barely noticed by bar wasn't moving backwards, it was very subtle.
