Does anyone know any good places to practice the Arabic script?

I've been interested in Arabic for ages, and what's put me off the most is the script - I'm relatively okay at reading the isolated letters, but throw in a couple of medial or final forms and I'm totally lost. I've started the reverse Arabic-> English tree (as of today) but it took about 20 minutes to complete lesson one so I have a feeling I may need to brush up on reading and typing a little bit first :D

I was wondering if anybody knows of a good website to practice! I'd mostly be looking for something that's like a cross between Memrise.com and realkana.com (but not either of those, lol), but any resources you've found helpful would be great. I'm also looking into getting some handwriting books that Arabic-speaking children use (thanks, eBay!) so it's not the end of the world if nobody knows any decent sites. :P

Thanks if you can help!

A friend and I have found books like Gateway to Arabic very helpful with the basics of getting used to writing Arabic and reading it. There is also the Mastering Arabic Series which has additional books for helping you learn to write the letters in various forms.

As for websites/apps, I use Memrise and there are a couple out there aimed at kids that allow you to trace letters and play little games in order to learn the letters. Just search 'learn Arabic' on your phone in whichever app store you have and you should find a bunch of apps :)
