Given the Incubator estimate is now inside a week, would anybody like to share their favorite Polish language resources? How is everybody else preparing for the release? Is anybody going in cold? I've made it about halfway through the introductory Memrise course, and am looking for any references for grammar, pronunciation, dictionary, listening, easy books/tv/movies, web or print. Wielkie dzięki! Can't wait for this to start!
I can answer your question only as a native speaker, not a learner so I can't relly tell which sources are appropriate for a person who just started learning, but here is what first comes to my mind:
polskieradio.pl - Polish public radio, broadcasting many different stations also in English and Russian, available online ("Słuchaj" subpage)
sjp.pwn.pl - official and largest Polish dictionary, google translate is rather fine only for translating single words.
dict.pl - I don't really know this site but looks quite useful when looking for a simple eng-pol dictionary
A lot of Polish cartoons are available on youtube, you can try watching old (produced during communism period) but classic ones like Miś Uszatek or Porwanie Baltazara Gąbki - watched by the whole generations of Polish children :) http://www.kreskowki.tv/kategoria - almost all cartoons you can imagine are available here with Polish dubbing- foreign and Polish production eg., The Flinstons, The Powerpuff Girls or Scooby Doo.
I hope you will find any of those resources useful and good luck with learning our language - not the easiest but definitely beautiful and worth the effort :)
Thanks - you've given me a lot to work with. I've got a long way to go, but I recognized some spoken words already.
Awesome, looks like lots of beginner's content, and right on up. Thanks!
