Not sure what was intended, but in this case "ihn" is most likely understood as referring to an article of clothing, e.g. a pullover: "Ich trage ihn (den Pulli) darunter (unter der Jacke)". In any case, the English translation is wrong. Better would be: "I carry it underneath"
